Helping Patients Find Their Way
It can be hard for cancer patients to find their way through the health care system. Patient Navigator services at Huntsman Cancer Institute can help. All patient navigator services are free.
Navigators make sure patients, caregivers, and doctors understand each other and get needed services. Patient navigators help in many ways:
- Provide information about what to expect
- Coordinate appointments
- Establish and help maintain communication between the patient and health care team
- Arrange interpreters for appointments
- Refer to community support services
- Locate financial support and help complete forms
Patient Navigator Programs
Adolescent & Young Adult (HIAYA)
The Huntsman-Intermountain Adolescent and Young Adult (HIAYA) Cancer Care Program serves adolescents and young adults (AYAs) between 15 and 39 years old who have been diagnosed with cancer.
American Indian
Navigators with our American Indian Program support new or returning patients. They are available to provide support to patients, their families, doctors, and other members of the care team.
Frontier and Rural
The Frontier and Rural Navigation Program serves patients coming to the Huntsman Cancer Institute Hospital from Montana, Wyoming, and rural Utah.
Spanish-Speaking (Español)
Huntsman Cancer Institute has navigators for Spanish-speaking Hispanic/Latino patients and their families. Navigators serve as the bridge between patients and their care team.
