Salt Lake City, UT—In the annual Consumer Assessment of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Plans Survey (CAHPS), Utahns rated ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½y U as the top overall health plan for the fifth year in a row. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½y U has consistently scored above average compared with other state Medicaid programs. The survey focuses on the care a member receives- from customer service needs to a member's overall satisfaction with their health plan.
A random sample of members from each health plan were selected and mailed a survey in February 2012. The following are key issues in which Utahns found ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½y U to be above average:
- Higher than average in overall health plan rating
- Above average in customer service
- Above the state average in physician ratings
Each year University of Utah ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Plans provides enrollee data for ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½y U members to an independent survey organization. The data is securely collected for each Medicaid plan in Utah and is released to the public each winter. The survey measures what members thought about the health care and services they received from their health plan in the past year. The report is intended to give consumers and purchasers information to make an informed decision when selecting a health plan.
