Effective July 1, 2019, Wendy Hobson-Rohrer, MD, MSPH, has been appointed as the associate vice president, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Sciences Education at University of Utah ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.
Hobson-Rohrer will focus on educational programs and initiatives across the health sciences. In this new role, she will identify and leverage the university's distinct strengths, build engagement and educational integration among colleges and schools, and maintain a culture of educational excellence.

"Dr. Hobson-Rohrer brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the U of U ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ leadership team, and we look forward to the important contributions she will lead to further enhance the educational experiences of our learners."
Hobson-Rohrer is a professor of pediatrics, along with an adjunct professor role in both dentistry and family and preventive medicine. She currently serves as the assistant vice president for Education & Faculty Development at University of Utah ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and the associate dean for Faculty Development in the School of Medicine.
As the founding director of and fellow in the University of Utah Academy of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Science Educators, Hobson-Rohrer serves a community that advances excellence and value in health science education. On a national level, she served as the chair of the National Academies Collaborative.
Additionally, Hobson-Rohrer is the chair of workshops and serves on the Program and Operating Committee for the Pediatric Academic Societies.
She also served as a regional research chair for the CORNET Research Network, aimed at promoting research in the resident longitudinal outpatient experience.
Hobson-Rohrer graduated from Cornell University, where she received both an M.D. and B.A. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Utah and Primary Children's Hospital. After working in the National Public ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Services Corp at Community ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Centers, Inc., Hobson-Rohrer pursued a fellowship in education and completed her M.S.P.H. degree at the University of Utah.
