U of U ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Announces Virtual Wellness Hub as Official Partner of Sundance Film Festival

University of Utah ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is proud to announce the fifth year of its partnership with the Sundance Film Festival as the Official ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ & Wellness Sponsor.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Festival will run online from January 28 through February 3, 2021. This year, U of U ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will continue its mission of helping festival attendees stay safe and promote wellness—through the Festival Wellness Hub on virtual Main Street, festgoers can access resources on mindfulness, movement, and nutrition whenever they need them.

While Festival screenings, panels, and events will now take place on its custom-designed online platform, Sundance Film Festival director Tabitha Jackson says the core of the Festival remains the same. "At the heart of all this is a belief in the power of coming together," she says. "Our Festival is responsive to the pandemic and gives us the opportunity to reach new audiences, safely, where they are."

Before and during the Festival, U of U ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will host a #10DaysofWellness social media campaign that will feature wellness resources, challenges, and giveaways.

In collaboration with Sundance Film Festival, U of U ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will also host another edition of its annual panel discussion that focuses on the power of combining storytelling with science and medicine.

This year, Geralyn Dreyfous—Academy Award-winning producer and founder of the Utah Film Center—will moderate a panel of Sundance filmmakers and mental health experts discussing new approaches to grace, humor, and grief during the pandemic. Festival alumni Kirsten Johnson, Ross Kauffman, and Regina K. Scully will join Huntsman Mental ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Institute CEO Mark Rapaport, MD, to talk about the power of science and storytelling and how to foster resiliency for the year to come.
