U of U ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and the Army Join Forces to Recruit Soldiers, ROTC Cadets for Possible Employment After Service

University of Utah ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ today officially marked their partnership with the U.S. Army PaYS (Partnership for Youth Success Program) at a signing ceremony at the South Jordan ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Center. This unique program connects soldiers and veterans with jobs in their own communities when they finish their military service.

A strategic partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross section of private industry, academia and businesses, as well as federal, state and local agencies, the U.S. Army PaYS program guarantees soldiers and ROTC cadets five job interviews and possible employment after the Army. Soldiers who participate in the program gain leadership, valuable professional and technical skills, job experience, and can feel confident in their future career opportunities.

Sarah Sherer, Chief Human Resources Officer, signed the official memorandum of agreement on behalf of University of Utah ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, along with LTC Raphael Vasquez, Battalion Commander, SLC Army Recruiting Battalion. Regarding the significance of this partnership, Sherer said, "This past year has stretched us all in ways we may not have ever imagined. After a year where our U of U ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ teams supported our community -- and at times leaned on them too -- a partnership that brings together the skills, expertise, and community focus of these two service organizations has never been more valuable."

University of Utah ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ confirms the value of military service to the nation, and is proud to partner with the Army on this important initiative to provide soldiers the opportunity to serve their country while gaining valuable skills and experience as they prepare for their future.
